In 2024, The interactive XR music performance, <Four Legs Good, Two Legs Bad>, was held on November 9th-10th at The Lit, a multicultural space in South Korea.

I participated as the visual director of ARCHIVERSE, overseeing the overall planning and visual implementation of the characters. It was my first time working on an XR music performance project, and I was happy to collaborate with various people, including the artist, modelers, and composer.
This project has been selected for the XR Distribution Market at the 2025 NewImages Festival in France, and we are planning its distribution and the development of accessible VR works.

A Participatory XR Pansori Performance
Four Legs Good, Two Legs Bad
Four Legs Good, Two Legs Bad is a participatory XR Pansori performance of George Orwell's Animal Farm. Experience Korean traditional music as you join the animals of Manor Farm in their revolution and witness the rise of totalitarianism in this immersive experience.

Interactive XR Performance
The 60-minute performance takes place in front of a large 10-meter screen, with about 100 audience members. The narrator, skilled in traditional Korean music Pansori, blends traditional and modern music to tell the story of Animal Farm. He sings with the audience and playfully guides them from the real world into the virtual space.

Audience Participation
The audience watches the performance and connects to the virtual space twice using their mobile devices. They become animals of Animal Farm, working together to drive out the farm owner and taking part in an unfair vote. Rather than just watching, they actively participate in the story, becoming part of the journey.

Animal Farm
Unlike a traditional farm, we reimagined Animal Farm as a dystopia where dreams and despair intertwine. The struggles of the farm animals between ideals and reality are architecturally reimagined through Deconstructivism and Constructivism—the farm represents hardship and reality, the windmill reflects their intersection, and the house of humans symbolizes corruption and decay.

Characters
The characters are made based on the novel, with rough analog textures
to reflect the dark atmosphere and a hand-drawn, storybook feel.
